The Bash Shell is a command line interface to the Bash Unix Shell and Command Language. It was first released in 1989 and has been widely adopted as the CLI implementation of choice for many Unix based systems. Microsoft are now including a version of the Bash shell in Windows 10 to allow end users who are familiar with this powerful tool to use it on Microsoft’s platform.
