UDP

UDP (User Datagram Protocol) is a core communications protocol used on IP networks. UDP is a transport layer protocol, but unlike TCP it is a connectionless protocol and does not provide any checking to ensure that data packets sent over an IP network are received by the target. UDP does allow for checksums to be used so that receiving nodes can check for missing packets.
