Server Sprawl

Server Sprawl occurs when the number of servers, or other IT infrastructure components, grow faster than the ability to control and manage them. Virtualization, and today public cloud services, make it easy to provision new servers from pools of resources. This can quickly lead to a situation in which the number of servers outgrows the management provision that is in place.
