SaaS (Software as a Service)

SaaS is a delivery method for IT resources over the Internet. Fully provisioned applications or services are hosted by a cloud provider and made available to subscribers over the Internet. Most SaaS applications are consumed by users using a web browser. Increasingly mobile applications are consumers of SaaS, though often via an embedded web view. Examples include Google Gmail and Microsoft Outlook email services, SalesForce, Office 365, and many others.
