IoT Device

An IoT device is any piece of hardware that can collect data about its operational parameters, or the environment around it, and pass this data back to central applications for analysis. IoT devices come in many types. From fully contained units designed to monitor a particular set of parameters or conditions, through add-on components for existing infrastructure, to parts built into domestic appliance and consumer devices such as washing machines and cable TV set-top boxes. If something needs to be monitored and reported back to a central application, then there will likely be an IoT device solution that can automate the process.
