Hospital Meaningful Use

Hospital Meaningful Use is a medical administration incentive program from the US Federal Government. It is designed to encourage the uptake of Electronic Health Record systems. It aims to deliver better clinical outcomes, improved population health outcomes, increased transparency and efficiency, empowered individuals, and more robust research data on health systems use. Hospital Meaningful Use criteria apply to EHR systems for patients who are hospitalized. There are equivalent Ambulatory Meaningful Use criteria for outpatient EHR systems.
