Application Firewall

An Application Firewall is an enhanced network security firewall. It builds on conventional functionality by enabling the control of input, output, and access to specific applications or services. They operate at a level within the network stack that provides access to the data flowing into and out of applications and services. As such they can provide a much richer level of control over what data is allowed in to and out of an organisations network.
