An Active Hot Standby provides high availability for an IT resource, by providing a standby piece of equipment that will take over in the event of a failure to the primary resource. All configuration settings and data are available to the Active Hot Standby in realtime. This allows it to take up primary operation immediately in the event of a failure to the resource it is paired with.
