SSL Offload

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Offload is a technique that allows the resource intensive task of encrypting, or decrypting, network traffic to be offloaded to a dedicated system. This removes the load from application and content servers and helps deliver better network performance to users of network services. See also SSL Accelerator and Application Acceleration entries.
