GitHub is a code hosting, version control, and collaboration website based on the popular Git version control system. GitHub lets developers and system administrators share code, scripts, and other files. As it is web-based and hosted in the Cloud, teams can be made up from members anywhere. GitHub does not require any coding skills to use. It is therefore ideal for DevOps teams that are comprised of members from many different technical backgrounds. GitHub can be used to store and manage Software Defined Networking definitions, virtual server configurations, and other Infrastructure as code definitions and scripts in addition to application and web code.
