Transport Layer Security (TLS) is a security protocol designed to secure traffic on IP networks. It is an evolution of the previous Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) security protocol. TLS updates and supersedes SSL. The latest version of TLS is the 1.3 specification that should be used as the previous TLS and SSL specifications have known vulnerabilities. TLS security is based on the use of secure and trusted digital certificates that are used to set up secure connections between network nodes and to encrypt traffic in transit across the network. LoadMaster supports TLS 1.3 and also TLS offloading to encrypt and decrypt TLS protected network packets as they are routed and inspected.
