Microsoft Windows Terminal Server

Microsoft Windows Terminal Server is a core component of Microsoft Windows Server, and Windows Desktop products. It allows remote computers to connect to a computer running Windows operating system and open a remote terminal session. This remote terminal session allows the remote computer to run applications on the remote machine. Each remote terminal session user gets their own distinct windows desktop environment when they are connected. This allows multiple remote connections at the same time. The Microsoft Windows Terminal Server manages the separate remote connections and allows them to run applications independently of other open sessions. Other non-Windows based clients, such as OS X, iOS and Android devices, can also run a Remote Desktop Connection client to get a session on the Windows based machine that is running Microsoft Windows Terminal Server.
