Git

Git is an open source version control (VCS) system initially released in 2005 by a team that included Linux creator Linus Torvalds. In May 2014 Git was the most popular version control system with close to 50% use. Recent data from Google searches and Stack Overflow discussions show that Git is the most discussed VCS by a large margin. This is most likely due to the use of the very popular web-based GitHub repository.
