Direct Server Return

Direct Server Return (DSR) is a network configuration that can be used to bypass a load balancing server farm, and instead respond directly to a request. This has many disadvantages in that you lose all of the benefits of load balancing for this particular network session. But in some circumstances it can be a useful tool to have. One example is when dealing with UDP packets with video streaming servers that use Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP).
