KEMP greatly expanded both our market share and our customer footprint in the Application Delivery market. Almost 40% of 2014 product sales were generated from the sale of software only load balancers, which remains the highest percentage of any vendor who offers hardware and software options. This rapid growth for our virtual, bare metal and cloud load balancers endorses the consensus view of an accelerating market shift away from hardware boxes.
“2014 was another record year for our company,” said Ray Downes, CEO of KEMP. “We recorded revenue growth rate of 30%, sustaining the market share momentum we have seen over the last number of years. Customers like our flexible approach to giving them load balancing and ADC technology on any platform of their choice that is easily deployable in real time, anywhere, anytime.”
Downes further added, “In 2015,KEMP will continue to develop technology that adds value to the way modern data centers and service providers are building cloud-enabled application delivery infrastructure.”
The focus for 2014 was primarily on developing innovative solutions that will drive the future growth of the company. KEMP introduced its patent pending adaptive load balancing solution for Software Defined Networking (SDN) and extended its security functionality with the addition of a Web Application Firewall (WAF). We became active members of the Open Daylight Project (ODL) and the ONF (Open Networking Foundation), further solidifying our position as a key vendor in the emerging world of L2-7 SDN.
We formed new partnerships with Intel, Oracle and SAP, and achieved Tier 1 status as a Dell Enterprise Infrastructure Partner. In addition, the LoadMaster became available in complimentary and purchasable options on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) marketplace, the HP SDN App Store, and Microsoft’s Azure marketplace. We also released our L2-7 adaptive load balancing technology in HP’s SDN App Store. KEMP takes great pride in having achieved Microsoft Azure and VMware vCloud Air Ready certifications.
Headcount Growth and New Offices
KEMP’s investment for the future was backed up with headcount growth of 44% in 2014. The company relocated corporate HQ to new expanded office space at Rockefeller Center in New York City, opened a new Santa Clara, California location, where much of our Emerging Technology research will be conducted, and upgraded and moved our Long Island facility to the town of Melville, New York.
In 2014, KEMP was named one of Deloitte’s Fastest Growing Technology Companies in North America with a 499.1% five year growth rate, a Fastest Growing Privately Owned Company on the 2014 Inc. 5000 list, and one of Crain’s New York Fastest Growing Companies in their annual Fast 50 list. KEMP was once again included in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for ADC’s, having gained the most positive momentum within the quadrant year on year.
Since shipping our first LoadMaster product back in 2003, we are proud to have recently passed the 24,000 global deployments mark. The one constant throughout the last eleven years has been innovative pricing, flexible licensing models and true platform ubiquity that can scale to support enterprises of every size, budget and workload requirement.
