Filling the TMG Gap

With the end-of-sale for Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway (TMG) having come and gone and the end of mainstream support fast approaching, many customers are looking for a new solution. As a Microsoft Global Alliance Partner and a fully certified hardware load balancing partner, Dell SonicWALL and KEMP Technologies respectively are unique in being able to offer integrated solutions that can help organizations of any size easily and quickly replace their existing Microsoft Forefront TMG deployment and complement their existing Microsoft implementation.

KEMP’s LoadMaster combines versatility, ease-of-use and pre-configured templates to speed deployment of a number of applications in the Microsoft portfolio, including Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013, Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), Lync 2010/2013 and SharePoint. SSL overlay services enables LoadMaster to offload a key source of CPU drain from application servers to increase performance and reduce response time. Layer 7 health checking ensures that should one of the servers  become inaccessible, the load balancer will take that server off-line, while automatically re-routing and reconnecting users to other functioning servers. Security features including DDoS mitigation, authentication verification, single sign-on, IPS/IDS and web application firewall protection all work together to help securely publish these applications.

With increased network complexity and application demands, the Dell SonicWALL enables businesses to take advantage of secure connectivity between on premise and cloud based services while managing the use of internet connectivity using dynamic bandwidth management for specified applications and cloud services. All Dell SonicWall firewalls run the same operating software, SonicOS, and provide the same core feature set, which includes traditional Stateful firewall, VPN, website filtering, intrusion prevention, full layer 7 application control, gateway antivirus, gateway anti-spyware, etc. This means there’s no compromise on security or features for smaller organizations. More demanding businesses require increased resilience and redundancy from their networks. Dell SonicWALL provides cost effective options such as High Availability and WAN failover, ensuring no single point of hardware failure.

When working together, KEMP’s flagship LoadMaster load balancer (ADC) and Dell SonicWALL’s Next Generation Firewalls jointly help customers deliver highly available and secure application infrastructures and fill many of the roles traditionally provided by TMG, including firewall, content inspection, VPN, remote access security, high availability and secure application publishing.
