Microsoft RDS

Remote Desktop Services provides a way for users to gain access to Windows applications from any location and a variety of devices from both within the intranet or the extranet. Kemp’s LoadMaster helps to improve RDS deployments by providing high-speed load balancing, content switching, data compression, content caching and SSL offload/acceleration.

The LoadMaster’s application-level awareness of RDS communication flows ensures that these connections are treated properly and users get the best experience possible. With RDS functions enabled on LoadMaster users are able to maintain persistence even in the absence of a Connection Broker. Adaptive agent-based load balancing monitors resource consumption on RD Session Hosts to ensure that servers are not overloaded with connections. This is determined based on the tasks being completed in each remote desktop instance as opposed to strictly the number of connections to a host, helping to ensure that users performing resource-intensive tasks get the resources they need.

Kemp LoadMaster was the first load balancer to deliver RDP-based Layer 7 load balancing and client session reconnect. Kemp’s solution helps organizations maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of their networks even when the application requirements are complex.

Kemp’s LoadMaster #1 price-performance leader, provides high-speed load balancing, content switching, data compression, content-caching and SSL offload/acceleration to Microsoft RDS deployments at about a third of the cost of any of its competitors.

With these capabilities, it may be deployed as a gateway, and with ESP and WAF provides secure access to applications. With its flexible deployment model, there is a cost effective solution to meet every size and performance requirement of the user’s network architecture. With Kemp 360 Vision product, this experience is further enhanced with centralized control and monitoring.
