Ray Downes, Chief Executive Officer
Ray has worked in the IT sector for over 20 years. During that time, he held a number of executive & operational management positions with global companies like Cabletron Systems and Enterasys. In 2002, Ray co-founded Arrosys Ltd, a European-based Sales & Marketing agency. Ray joined KEMP Technologies in 2010 to head up international expansion and was appointed CEO in early 2012.
Ray attended both the Limerick Institute of Technology and the University of Limerick.
Richard Willemin, Chief Financial Officer
Rich Willemin was named Chief Financial Officer for KEMP in February of 2012. He is responsible for worldwide accounting, reporting, financial planning, analysis, human resources and information technology. Prior to joining KEMP, Rich was the CFO at numerous other early stage, fast-growth technology companies, including NEIC, Open Solutions, QSS, Summit Medical and Datalogix. He also spent 18 years in various financial management positions with Citicorp, Pepsico, ITT and General Electric.
Rich received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Georgetown University and an MBA in Finance at Stern School of Business.
Peter Melerud, Chief Marketing Officer & Co-Founder
Peter brings over twenty years experience in engineering and product development for technology companies. He has extensive experience designing network infrastructure, business intelligence, data management, high-end network and systems integration solutions. At KEMP, Peter specializes in the strategic direction of KEMP products and the propagation of the value proposition and solutions for the application infrastructure market.
Simon Roach, Chief Technology Officer
Simon holds a 1st Class Honors Degree in Physics and Computing and has more than 25 years experience in software, information and communications technology. More than 15 years have been spent in technical/executive positions.
After graduating, Simon spent the next decade in R&D as a Unix Operating System developer with a strong focus on symmetrical multi-processor kernels and Internet Protocol (IP) based communications stacks, working both for Siemens and AT&T.
In 1994, he co-founded GMRS Software GmbH. As CEO/CTO, he was responsible for the creation of a revolutionary new generation of flexible call processing technology for Mobile Telecommunications and the successful growth of the business leading to its acquisition by a publicly traded company (Brain Force AG) in 2000.
Simon spent the next 5 years as Managing Director and Design Authority of Brain Force’s Communication Networks Division, where he created a portfolio of enterprise-class software products, including a Load Balancing and Application Delivery Appliance, which was later to become the KEMP LoadMaster.
In January of 2005, Simon co-founded Roach & Stolz, where he was instrumental in developing standardized best practice approaches to conducting software technology and IT due diligence assessments for the investor community in Europe and the USA.
Simon has been CTO at KEMP Technologies since Jan 2012 and is responsible for KEMP's technology vision, technical product management, emerging technologies and product development. Simon speaks fluent English and German.
George Zervos, VP, Americas and APAC Sales
George has over 25 years of experience in IT sales and marketing across the EMEA region, managing products and sales channels for IT vendors and service providers such as Ricoh, Fujitsu, British Telecom, Standard Microsystems Corp and SMC Networks. George has managed sales and operations teams at VP level, developing sales teams in markets across EMEA and expanding sales and market presence through distributor and integrator channels. Prior to joining KEMP Technologies, George founded and managed IT-2-Channel Ltd, delivering outsourced channel management solutions and strategies for IT vendors expanding in the EMEA market.
In his role at KEMP, George is responsible for developing and shaping KEMP’s Sales and Channel Strategy across the Americas and Asia Pacific, together with local sales teams. In these markets, KEMP works with value-add distributors, integrators and strategic partners to develop business in public and private sector markets and from Enterprise to SMB organisations. KEMP has sales and pre-sales presence in all major markets and is expanding rapidly into high-growth emerging markets.
He holds an MBA from Bradford University Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Hull.
Leigh Bradford, Vice President of EMEA Sales
Leigh joined KEMP in Feb 2012 to head up the UK Sales operation, with a remit to set up and then grow the business from a channel and overall sales perspective. Over the next few years he expanded his remit to encompass Northern Europe and following further success now heads up the whole EMEA Sales operation.
With over 18 years technology sales experience of which the last 10 years have been spent in the ADC space with multiple vendors, Leigh has worked on major account wins including a number of globally recognised brands, has set up channel infrastructure and worked as direct touch along with heading up and leading sales teams. Prior to finding a niche in the ADC market he has worked for technology reseller partners and distributors giving him a broad range of experience and skills which he continues to utilise to this day.
Norbert Kiss, Director and General Manager Asia Pacific
Norbert joined KEMP Technologies in 2012 and leads the business in the Asia Pacific region.
Based in Singapore, Norbert has extensive experience throughout Asia Pacific, having worked and lived in this region since 1992. Norbert specializes in growing companies within the Asia Pacific region. He has held executive positions at companies such as Lexmark, Oracle, Geac, and WatchGuard. He has resided in Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia and successfully grown business in China, Japan, India and other parts of Asia.
Most recently, Norbert was the Vice President, Asia Pacific for Astaro, a German-based Multi-National focused on Internet security products. He was successful in establishing the business in Asia Pacific in 2009 and achieving substantial growth throughout the region, prior to the acquisition of Sophos in 2011.
Norbert’s career started in the IT industry in the early 1980’s as a programmer and system analyst. His focus then moved to sales and marketing where he progressed to executive levels within the Asia Pacific region. Norbert has extensive experience of initiating and sustaining growth for companies in the security and IT sector.
Norbert holds an MBA from the University of Ottawa, Canada with a focus on Asia and is a graduate of the Columbia Business School’s Senior Executive Development program.
Marguerite Leen, Managing Director, EMEA
Marguerite Leen joined KEMP Technologies during the establishment of its EMEA headquarters 3 years ago and has been general manager for EMEA for the past 2 years. Prior to KEMP, she worked at management level for accounting practice BDO in Limerick, and then moved into industry with Advanced Innovations, an Irish-based company with US and Chinese subsidiaries that managed products for its clients around the world in the aviation, education and gaming sectors. Marguerite also spent time with Dell Computers as part of the Services Revenue Accounting Team.
Marguerite’s career experience to-date includes all aspects of financial management, including budgets, cashflow planning, financial reporting, international audit and compliance experience for both Irish-owned and foreign companies. This has included tax and grant compliance in a number of different jurisdictions.
She holds a BSc in Accounting from University College Cork, and is an Associate Member ofthe Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
Jeff Fisher, Vice President of Strategic Alliances
Jeff Fisher is responsible for KEMP Technologies' overall Strategic Alliance strategy. With a strong engineering and business development background, Jeff brings over 20 years of experience. Most recently, Jeff was VP of Emerging Technologies at RES Software, where he played a critical role in developing the company’s long term global growth strategy as well as solidifying its presence in key regions. Prior to that, he was VP of Strategy at Desktone (acquired by VMware), where he designed and executed a multi-year market development strategy, establishing the company as a globally recognized leader in Desktops as a Service (DaaS). Before Desktone, he held the positions of Senior Business Development Manager at Microsoft and Director of Business Development at Softricity (acquired by Microsoft), where he built and managed the alliance with Microsoft that ultimately led to acquisition. Jeff also worked in sales engineering roles at Citrix Systems and NETLAN earlier in his career.
Jeff earned his Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University and Masters in Business Administration from Columbia Business School.
