Ray Downes, Chief Executive Officer

Ray has worked in the IT sector for over 20 years. During that time, he held a number of executive & operational management positions with global companies like Cabletron Systems and Enterasys. In 2002, Ray co-founded Arrosys Ltd, a European-based Sales & Marketing agency. Ray joined Kemp Technologies in 2010 to head up international expansion and was appointed CEO in early 2012.

Ray attended both the Limerick Institute of Technology and the University of Limerick.

Peter Melerud, Chief Strategy Officer & Co-Founder

A 30-year IT industry innovator and entrepreneur, Peter Melerud has served a broad range of customer segments with a focus on delivering exceptional value through disruptive technology. Throughout his career, Peter has blended a deep understanding of data center infrastructure and application delivery technologies with innovative go-to-market strategies that has resulted in rapid customer adoption and revenue growth.

As co-founder of Kemp Technologies, Peter has been instrumental in leading the business from incubation to one of the most disruptive players in application delivery. He has navigated product management, business development, sales, marketing, and customer success programs that have translated into continuous year-over-year growth, profitability, and pioneering the new horizon of how enterprises and cloud providers deliver and secure applications. Serving as chief strategy officer for Kemp, Peter develops, executes and sustains corporate strategic initiatives with a particular focus on product strategy, corporate development, and establishing key technology alliances.

Peter is an alumnus of NYU, where he majored in Management Information Systems at the Stern School of Business. He also has a diploma from The Juilliard School where he studied classical piano.

George Lo, Chief Financial Officer

George Lo is made Kemp's Chief Financial Officer following 5 years tenure overseeing company's global financial and operational functions. With nearly two decades of financial management expertise, he is responsible for all aspects of Kemp's financial reporting, tax planning, analytics, operations, legal, corporate development, strategic advisory, internal control and IT infrastructure.

Prior to joining Kemp, George served as Director of Finance and Accounting at a boutique global consulting firm, SmartAnalyst, an Edison Partners portfolio, from 2009 to 2013, where he managed subsidiaries in both UK and India from New York. Prior to that he started his career in the US first as Internal Auditor then Accounting Manager at MRBI, one of the top US media conglomerates specializing in radio and television broadcasting industry, and participated in a $170 million acquisition from Scripps Networks. Prior to coming to the US, he worked more than five years in Taiwan with a local advertising firm and contributed driving the company for over 1,100% growth until he decided to pursue further education in the US.

George holds an M.B.A. graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of California and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Tony Thompson, Chief Marketing Officer

Tony brings more than 20 years of dynamic marketing and general management leadership to Kemp. Tony joined Kemp from SS8 Networks where he served as vice president and general manager leading the strategy, sales and marketing execution for a breakthrough in network threat detection. Prior to SS8, Tony was vice president of marketing for Silver Peak, where he reshaped the company from niche player to a leader in WAN optimization, and ultimately the pioneer of the burgeoning SD-WAN market. Prior to Silver Peak, Tony led OEM and embedded security marketing for McAfee. He came to McAfee from the acquisition of Solidcore, where he established the company as a leader in application whitelisting. Previously, Tony led public relations for security products at Juniper Networks, and was instrumental in the launch of Blue Coat, the web security leader that achieved over 300% growth in market valuation and profitability within 18 months. Tony holds a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Fresno.

Ciaran Bradley, Chief Technology Officer

Ciaran brings more than 20 years of software development, product management and entrepreneurial leadership in security, cloud, telecoms and IoT to Kemp.

Ciaran joined from Chargifi, a UK based start-up developing an edge IoT platform for wireless power backed by Intel Capital and HPE. At Chargifi Ciaran served as chief technology officer responsible for engineering and product strategy. He lead the development of Chargifi’s 3rd generation architecture encompassing cloud, proprietary hardware and firmware and mesh networking technologies.

Prior to Chargifi, Ciaran was chief technology officer at AdaptiveMobile Security. As CTO he was instrumental in the development of cloud and telecom security products providing AI powered real-time protection from nation state and malicious threat actors.

Prior to AdaptiveMobile Security, Ciaran co-founded Sentry Wireless to develop security products for mobile platforms and telecoms networks using machine learning and big data technologies. Sentry Wireless was acquired by AdaptiveMobile Security.

Ciaran holds bachelor’s degrees from National University of Ireland Galway and Trinity College Dublin, a postgraduate Diploma from Technological University Dublin and a Master’s Degree from Queen’s University Belfast.

Marguerite Leen, Vice President, People & Quality

Marguerite Leen joined Kemp Technologies in 2010 when the company was setting up its EMEA headquarters in Limerick, Ireland. In her first role at Kemp, Marguerite was responsible for the EMEA finance and operations function and later progressed to the General Manager and Managing Director positions which entailed taking full responsibility for the Limerick site and day-to-day business operations. In 2020, Marguerite was appointed Vice President, People and Quality. In her current role she is responsible for the company’s People Operations and Quality Management functions. Kemp’s Quality Management system is ISO 9001 certified.

Marguerite has a background in audit having trained as a Chartered Accountant with BDO. Prior to joining Kemp Marguerite spent time working at Advanced Innovations, an Irish-based company with US and Chinese subsidiaries that managed products for its clients around the world in the aviation, education and gaming sectors. Marguerite also spent time with Dell Computers as part of the Services Revenue Accounting Team.

She holds a BSc in Accounting from University College Cork and is a Fellow member of Chartered Accountants Ireland.

George Zervos, VP, Americas Sales

George has nearly 30 years of experience in IT sales and marketing across all major global markets - EMEA, Americas and APAC. He has managed products and sales channels for vendors such as Ricoh, Fujitsu, British Telecom and SMC Networks. George also briefly established his own business, IT-2-Channel, where he assisted network infrastructure, unified communications and enterprise software vendors to break into as well as expand in EMEA markets.

Since 2016, and after building Kemp's sales team and business in EMEA, George has been responsible for Kemp's Sales and Channel Strategy across the Americas and LatAm markets. In these regions, Kemp partners with system integrators and strategic vendors to develop business in public and private sectors and from Enterprise to SMB organizations.

He holds an MBA from Bradford University Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Economics.

Leigh Bradford, VP, International Sales

Leigh joined Kemp in Feb 2012 to head up the UK Sales operation, with a remit to set up and then grow the business from a channel and overall sales perspective. Over the next few years he expanded his remit to encompass Northern Europe and following further success now heads up the whole EMEA Sales operation.

With over 18 years technology sales experience of which the last 10 years have been spent in the ADC space with multiple vendors, Leigh has worked on major account wins including a number of globally recognised brands, has set up channel infrastructure and worked as direct touch along with heading up and leading sales teams. Prior to finding a niche in the ADC market he has worked for technology reseller partners and distributors giving him a broad range of experience and skills which he continues to utilise to this day.
