KEMP Technologies, Inc. Application Switch
An application switch is a network device that acts as a proxy for web applications and servers located behind it. Organizations can virtualize back-end web applications and servers, providing better availability, scaling and performance and security. If an application or server goes down, the application switch directs client sessions to other available applications and servers without interrupting the client session. An application switch may also be known as an Application delivery controller, URL switch, Web content switch, content switch and Layer 7 switch.
