Audi Volkswagen Middle East speeds up email performance with Kemp load balancing

Audi Volkswagen Middle East has installed a Kemp LM 2200 load balancer at its offices in Dubai to ensure maximum network uptime for its Microsoft Exchange email users and remove congestion problems during peak times of the day. With over 80 staff spread across three sites, the Kemp load balancer now makes sure that Audi Volkswagen Middle East email users are automatically connected to the best performing MS Exchange server and if one becomes inaccessible, the load balancer will automatically re-route users to other functioning servers.

The Kemp LoadMaster gives us a fast and reliable user-experience all the time and we are now looking at using load balancing for our webservers and database servers.

"The Kemp LoadMaster gives us a fast and reliable user-experience all the time and we are now looking at using load balancing for our webservers and database servers.”

“The changes Microsoft made to its Exchange 2010 core server architecture, including the use of Exchange Client Access Server (CAS) to handle client connections, now make load balancing necessary for many businesses and organisations that rely on good email services,” said Thomas Kurz, Territory Manager DACH & ME at Kemp Technologies. “Load balancing was always considered only necessary for very large enterprises, but now companies of all sizes are looking for affordable load balancing solutions to ensure optimum performance from its servers and applications.”

The Kemp LoadMaster, which is Microsoft Certified for use with Exchange 2010, was recommended to Audi Volkswagen Middle East by its IT consultants, Comparex GMBH, who were supporting the company’s migration to Active Directory and Exchange 2010. The system was installed at the beginning of 2013. Audi Volkswagen Middle East FZE was established as fully owned subsidiary of AUDI AG in 2005. The regional sales offices based in Dubai are responsible for the markets in the GCC, the Levant as well as Yemen and Iraq, and co-ordinates all the sales, marketing and after sales activities of its independent dealers.

The Kemp LoadMaster range combines versatility with ease-of-use to speed deployment and make the most of advanced messaging applications and protocols used by Exchange 2010, including Outlook Web Access, Outlook Anywhere, ActiveSync, SMTP, POP3 and IMAP and RPC Client Access (Native MAPI).

In addition, LoadMaster 2200 also provides built-in SSL encryption acceleration to offload a key source of CPU drain from the Client Access Servers and allows one server to be taken off-line for maintenance, without losing performance.

Email communication is at the heart of everything we do, so it is vital that we don’t have interruptions to our new MS Exchange 2010 service or slow performance at busy times when we are sending and receiving the most emails.
